Sometimes, you might forget the username and password, which you need to log in to your router. Without these credentials, you won’t be able to login to your router. In that case, it is necessary to reset or restore the router to its factory settings.
To perform a factory reset on your Netgear router, you need to go through the following instructions:
First, you have to locate the ‘Reset’ or ‘Restore Factory Settings’ button on your router. This button is usually located at the rear end of the router.
Using a pin or a hairclip press and hold this button for about ten seconds. After this, release the button.
You will notice that the LED lights on your router have started to blink. Once the lights become stable, the power light will turn green (‘white’ in case of the latest models).
This would signify that you have successfully reset the router.
